Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled Certified Nursing Assistant to support our research team at the Human Nutrition Research Center USDA in Davis, CA.

Estimated Salary: $35,000 - $45,000 per year, depending on experience.

About the Role:
This part-time position involves assisting with medical research studies, providing nursing care and support to subjects, and maintaining accurate records of their health problems and treatment plans. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be able to work independently, and demonstrate empathy and compassion when interacting with study participants.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of subjects' health problems, treatments, and progress.
  • Administer medications and dietary supplements as prescribed by physicians.
  • Monitor and record subjects' vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
  • Perform routine laboratory tests, such as blood draws and urine analysis.
  • Assist with data collection and entry into electronic systems.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance knowledge and skills.

Work Schedule:
This is a part-time position, approximately 12 hours per week, with flexible scheduling to accommodate the needs of the research center. Shifts may include evenings and weekends as needed.

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A current CNA certification in the state of California.
  • Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records systems.
