POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Full-Time Activities Director for our community at Woodland Place. This role involves designing and implementing engaging activities tailored to the needs of our residents in both Long-Term Care and Assisted Living settings. The activity program must address the spiritual, social, physical, and cognitive needs of all residents.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to read, write, and follow both oral and written instructions effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A genuine compassion for and desire to work with the elderly population.
- Capability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Integrity, reliability, and respect for confidentiality and the rights of others.
- Effective communication with residents, families, staff, vendors, and the public.
- Aptitude for managing challenging situations with professionalism.
- Ability to adhere to a monthly budget.
- Compliance with all health requirements.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check.
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and distribute monthly activity calendars for residents.
- Create and maintain a visible Activity Board for residents, team members, and families.
- Design and execute an Activities Program that adheres to federal and state regulations.
- Participate in resident care planning and relevant meetings.
- Attend daily team meetings to discuss resident needs and program updates.
- Complete the activity section of the MDS in a timely manner.
- Document resident participation in activities using Matrix Care.
- Organize and facilitate quarterly family nights.
- Deliver and, if necessary, read mail to residents.
- Oversee scheduling and coordination of social programs for the Skilled Nursing Facility, including events for residents and team members.
- Collaborate with community personnel, family members, and residents to understand their interests and needs for personalized activities.
Customer Service Commitment:
- Ensure all employees provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform duties with courtesy and professionalism towards residents and team members.
- Proactively prioritize resident safety and satisfaction.
- Welcome visitors in a friendly and helpful manner, including families, prospective residents, vendors, and regulators.
Residents' Rights:
- Ensure understanding and compliance with all regulations regarding residents' rights.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Adhere to prescribed sanitation practices and procedures.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Follow company policies and procedures diligently.

Working Conditions:
- Scheduled hours may include overtime; flexibility is required.
- Subject to callback during emergencies (e.g., severe weather, evacuations).
- Potential exposure to hazards such as falls, burns, and air contaminants.

Physical and Sensory Requirements:
- Medium work: ability to exert 10-35 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly.
- Must work independently with integrity and flexibility, effectively engaging with residents and staff.
Must be able to relate to and work with individuals who are ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally distressed, and at times, challenging within the community.
