We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Associate to join our team at Spaulding Nursing & Therapy Center in Brighton. As a key member of our interdisciplinary healthcare team, you will provide clinical support functions to promote a safe and compassionate patient care environment.
Key Responsibilities- Implement patient care plans as directed by registered nurses.
- Provide patient physical care, including bed baths, toileting, grooming, and changing bed linen, in accordance with established guidelines.
- Assist patients with positioning, lifting, and turning, and use adaptive and transfer equipment as needed.
- Perform patient monitoring activities, such as vital signs and blood glucose checks, in accordance with established guidelines.
- Prepare patients for meals and assist with meeting their needs.
- Document patient care in a timely manner, adhering to established standards.
- Organize patient rooms to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Obtain and label specimens in accordance with established procedures.
- Provide mentoring and teaching to new nursing assistants to meet performance expectations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; nursing assistant certification preferred.
- Recent experience and/or training in clinical patient care.
- Enrollment in a nursing program or possession of a valid license, certification, or enrollment in a nursing assistant program.
This role requires standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods. You will also be required to use your hands for fine motor tasks and sense of touch. Additionally, you may be exposed to blood-borne pathogens, hazardous specimens, and other potentially hazardous materials.
Work EnvironmentYou will work in a fast-paced healthcare environment with a high level of noise and activity. You will be required to wear personal protective equipment, including gloves and a surgical mask, to protect yourself and others from infection.
