Job Summary

The City of Eustis, FL seeks a reliable and responsible Transportation Coordinator to transport children to and from schools and recreational activities sponsored by the City of Eustis Parks and Recreation Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport children from schools to after-school recreational locations.
  • Pick up and drop off children at designated locations.
  • Drive children to field trips, sporting events, and other activities.
  • Operate stop sign and flashing lights on the bus to alert traffic.
  • Perform basic maintenance checks on the bus.
  • Follow a planned route on a time schedule.
  • Work with onboard staff to ensure children stay in their seats at all times.
  • Follow traffic laws and state and federal transit regulations.
  • Follow safety procedures to ensure passenger safety.
  • Listen to alerts about bad weather.
  • Navigate roads and watch for debris, wet or slippery road conditions.
  • Report accidents immediately.
  • Call police during an emergency.
Requirements
  • Able to work with the general public of all ages tactfully and effectively.
  • Ability to maintain records and reports.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with peers, supervisors, and the public.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, some weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a Florida "C" CDL with passenger bus endorsement.
  • Have an acceptable driving record.
