Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Information Systems Specialist to join our team at the University of Texas at Austin. As a key member of our Information Technology department, you will be responsible for the design, build, configuration, testing, and maintenance of clinical information systems with a focus on integrated multi-specialty ambulatory care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business operations and providers to resolve issues and problems related to clinical information systems.
  • Provide support to end-users, both remotely and in-person, and monitor, investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve incoming tickets.
  • Coordinate system fixes and changes with software vendors and deploy application changes with the training team and operations.
  • Create test scripts, timelines, and plans for application and workflow changes, and perform actual testing of clinical information system configuration and processes.
  • Collaborate with technical colleagues to identify infrastructure-related issues that have resulted in clinical application issues.
  • Provide ongoing end-user clinical information systems support with all upgrades, new releases, enhanced functionality, and requested change and problem management support following the outlined ITIL processes.

  • Increasing technical knowledge of assigned applications, including relationships of infrastructure and impact to users if unavailable.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
