About the Position

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate healthcare professional to join our team as a Correctional Nurse. As a Correctional Nurse, you will work in a secure clinic environment, providing high-quality healthcare services to inmates. Your primary responsibility will be to assess patients, develop care plans, and implement treatments in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide healthcare services to inmates, including emergency care, acute care, long-term care, and OB/GYN services
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify their healthcare needs
  • Develop and implement care plans to meet the needs of patients
  • Work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure continuity of care
Requirements
  • Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of South Dakota
  • CPR certified
  • Strong nursing assessment skills, critical thinking skills, initiative, team-oriented, and communication skills
  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of patient care, hospital and clinic routine and procedures, IV therapy, and the care and use of medical equipment and supplies
  • Ability to evaluate client behaviors, symptoms, and effects of medications, follow directions, prepare and maintain records, charts, and reports, apply nursing techniques as delegated by physicians or registered nurses, establish and maintain effective relationships with patients and staff, and direct and monitor direct care personnel
