Position Summary:
The Senior Operational Technology Systems Engineer plays a crucial role in overseeing the systems utilized within Veolia's Operational Technology (OT) framework. This position encompasses the design, implementation, management, support, and ongoing enhancement of various systems, including Windows Servers, Linux Servers, DNS, DHCP, Storage, Active Directory, Virtualization, Backup, Restoration, and Cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate senior-level expertise in system design, operations, alert management, and monitoring.
  • Lead, mentor, and train fellow System Engineers within the team.
  • Contribute to the development of system standards, policies, procedures, and configurations.
  • Implement ITIL methodologies in daily operations.
  • Collaborate with OT Security to ensure the implementation of secure solutions in critical infrastructure.
  • Select and utilize top-tier tools for system performance and management.
  • Actively participate in team decision-making processes.
  • Serve as the escalation point for major system issues.
  • Conduct thorough Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) in a timely manner.
  • Work alongside contracted managed service providers.
  • Engage in change control committees, providing insights on system changes to minimize production disruptions.
  • Adhere to Veolia's safety practices.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to align with company objectives.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in systems and cloud technologies.
  • Recommend new technologies and solutions to enhance operations.
  • Focus on responsibilities related to Veolia North America's regulated business.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in System Engineering.
  • Proficient in system solutions, including server management, virtualization, backup, recovery, and cloud technologies.
  • Experience with Windows, Linux, VMware, Citrix, and AWS (GCP experience is a plus).
  • Ability to assess costs, develop business cases, and define strategic plans.
  • Strong vendor management skills are essential.
