Exciting Opportunity for Control Systems Specialist
International Staff Consulting is in search of a talented Control Systems Specialist to enhance our engineering team. In this role, you will oversee the automation equipment, software systems, and application tools that regulate our operational processes. You will work in close partnership with various departments to deploy cutting-edge control methodologies for both new and existing process systems. Your collaboration with maintenance and operations teams will be crucial in diagnosing and resolving equipment challenges efficiently.
- Develop and implement process automation strategies, including standard control, operational sequences, logic frameworks, and advanced automation for both continuous and batch operations.
- Design, update, and improve Human-Machine Interface (HMI) systems.
- Evaluate control system efficiency, perform loop assessments, and optimize tuning.
- Incorporate new automation technologies into the current operational framework.
- Assist in troubleshooting process challenges by determining the underlying causes of disruptions and irregularities.
- Establish and manage alarm notification systems.
- Support capital initiatives, including overseeing project justifications and managing associated sub-projects.
- Execute additional responsibilities as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong background in industrial process systems.
- Practical experience with instrumentation and electrical systems related to automation.
- Proficient in a variety of software applications, particularly the Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint.
- Advanced capabilities in data analysis and experience with process data management systems such as OSI PI or Capstone ParcView.
- Familiarity with P&ID diagrams, loop documentation, and motor schematics, with the ability to create and manage these documents using AutoCAD or similar software.
Experience Requirements:
The ideal candidate should have between 3 to 8 years of experience in process automation. Expertise in Distributed Control Systems (DCS), particularly with Honeywell Experion or TDC, is essential. Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (Allen Bradley ControlLogix) will be considered a significant asset.
Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Pulp/Paper Science).
