Job Summary:

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a skilled Welding Instructor to join our team at Paul D. Camp Community College. As a Welding Instructor, you will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction and training to students in the field of welding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver instructional materials and courses in welding principles and applications.
  • Provide hands-on training and instruction in welding processes and techniques.
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback to improve student outcomes.
  • Stay current with industry developments and advancements in welding technology.
  • Collaborate with other faculty and staff to develop and implement curriculum and programs.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Welding or a related field.
  • At least five years of experience in welding, with a minimum of three years of experience in teaching or training.
  • American Welding Society (AWS) certification.
  • Considerable knowledge of welding principles and applications, as well as Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) guidelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate of Applied Science degree in Welding.
  • Teaching experience at the community college level.
  • Welding experience in a shipyard environment.
