Job Overview

Sylvan Learning is a leading provider of tutoring services to students of all ages, grades, and skill levels. As a Sylvan Learning Tutor, you will play a critical role in delivering our proven programs to students in a local school setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver guided, scripted curriculum and/or lesson support to groups of up to 8 students on local school campuses.
  • Set up and manage the learning environment, utilizing Sylvan's proven programs.
  • Motivate students with resources from our on-site toy store.
  • Collaborate with Coordinators and Directors to ensure smooth program execution.
  • Attend online training provided by Sylvan and participate in shadowing experiences.
Compensation and Schedule
  • $24 - $26/hour
  • Training rate: $18/hour (10-16 hours)
  • Tutors can expect to tutor between 1.5 hours to 3 hours per day, 3 to 4 days per week.
  • Tutors will be assigned to a specific school.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or 2-years college completion toward 4-year degree required.
  • Previous teaching or tutoring experience is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must provide TB clearance and complete a Live Scan background check.
