Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Plasma Center Nurse to join our team. As a Medical Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, and reviewing laboratory test results. You will work closely with our Center Manager and Center Physician to ensure the highest standards of patient care and safety.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Determining donor eligibility, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion.
  • Managing donor adverse events, including evaluating reactions and following applicable SOPs for medical emergencies.
  • Reviewing laboratory test results and referring to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs as needed.
  • Supporting the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
  • Managing employee incidents and determining whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
  • Current licensure or certification as a LPN or LVN in the state where responsibilities will be assigned.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
  • Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
  • Satisfactory completion of the FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
  • Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
