Principal Engineer for Electrical Systems Integration

The Electrical Systems Integration Specialist plays a pivotal role in the design process for onshore wind energy solutions and is essential for the successful execution of high-quality New Product Introductions (NPI).
You will exhibit technical leadership and accountability for the electrical systems of our widely utilized wind turbine platforms. Your responsibilities will encompass leading product development initiatives, from defining business requirements and making technical trade-offs to overseeing prototype installations and facilitating serial production.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and manage the engineering design activities for onshore NPI initiatives, including cost reduction efforts, service programs, and new product developments.
- Oversee the design, analysis, and evaluation of assigned projects, ensuring adherence to sound engineering principles and business standards.
- Interface with cross-functional teams both within and outside of engineering to achieve NPI program objectives within established cost and schedule parameters.
- Organize and conduct technical program reviews, participating as either a presenter or reviewer.
- Ensure that the functionality and capabilities of the electrical systems meet product specifications through a detailed breakdown of requirements.
- Assist the platform team in making informed decisions regarding the use of existing components or identifying strategic enhancements.
- Communicate significant issues, necessary plan adjustments, and achievements in a timely manner, while providing recommendations for future actions.
- Ensure proper documentation of technical data generated for assigned projects, in accordance with engineering policies and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Extensive experience in electrical engineering or related disciplines.
- Familiarity with the characteristics and limitations of electrical systems in wind turbines or similar complex systems.
- Proven ability to collaborate across functions to achieve consensus and drive decision-making.
- Strong program management skills and a proactive attitude.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, coupled with a positive mindset.
- Experience working in a global, cross-functional environment.
- Knowledge of wind turbine products and associated responsibilities.
- Analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to document, plan, and manage multiple NPI program deliverables concurrently.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership capabilities.
