Job Description

As a key member of the RFS Lawn and Landscapes team, the Maintenance Foreman plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our maintenance crew. This position requires strong leadership skills, as you will be responsible for guiding your team and making important decisions throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain all maintenance equipment, including mowers, trailers, and trucks.
  • Ensure that equipment is properly maintained and repaired in a timely manner.
  • Train and supervise laborers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Manage fuel usage and ensure that all necessary receipts are turned in.
  • Develop and implement effective maintenance routes and schedules to ensure that all lawns are properly maintained.
  • Responsible for checking engine and transmission oil and notifying management when truck/trailer maintenance is needed.
  • Responsible for getting flat tires fixed.
  • Know how to use all mowers to their fullest potential, including in wet and dry conditions.
  • Knowledgeable on how to properly stripe lawns.
  • Know and monitor which direction lawns are mowed week to week.
  • Know specific cut heights per lawn.
  • Know how to properly perform and execute spring and fall cleanups, proper pruning, etc.

Requirements:

  • Ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of maintenance equipment and procedures.
  • Ability to train and supervise laborers.

Working Conditions:

This position requires working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, including rain and extreme temperatures. The Maintenance Foreman must be able to lift and move heavy equipment and materials as needed.
