Job Summary

The Baltimore City Community College is seeking a qualified individual to serve as an Adjunct Faculty Instructor for our Emergency Medical Technician program. As an Adjunct Faculty Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the classroom and clinical settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver high-quality instructional content to students
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback
  • Manage classroom and clinical environments to ensure a safe and effective learning experience
  • Collaborate with other faculty members and staff to achieve program goals
  • Stay current with industry developments and best practices in emergency medical services

Requirements:

  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Must have a high school diploma or general education diploma (GED) verified by the sponsoring agency
  • Must have 3 years of experience in the emergency services
  • Must possess the ability to perform all tasks required for the teaching
  • Must be currently certified as an MICRB Level II emergency services instructor who has successfully:
    • Completed at least 12 hours of an emergency medical technician instructor skills development course
    • Has at least 3 consecutive years of experience as an emergency medical technician or higher
    • Maintains a Maryland EMS certification or licensed as an emergency medical technician or higher
    • Has current knowledge of the Maryland Medical Protocols for Emergency Medical Services Providers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a related field
  • Experience teaching in a higher education setting
  • Current certification as an emergency medical technician or higher
