Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Emergency Department Technician II to join our team at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC). As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform operational tasks related to patient admission and flow in the Emergency Department.
  • Provide clinical and clerical support to unit staff, including vital sign collection, phlebotomy, and oxygen placement.
  • Assist with cleaning and preparing exam rooms and equipment for next patients.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care.
  • Participate in promoting efficient flow of the multi-unit environment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; EMT, CRT, or Paramedic certification preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Emergency/Pediatric Technician role or related field.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to use computers.
Working Conditions

This role requires working in a clinical environment with potential for rapid change and varied levels of stress. Ability to walk and stand up to 90% of work time and lift and position patients as needed.
