Undersea Warfare Engineer

Position Overview:
This role involves serving as a key Technical Representative and acting as a liaison to TEAMSUB, directly reporting to the Executive Director of PEO-UWS. You will be responsible for providing essential acquisition, Science and Technology, and technical support, along with valuable insights and guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic insights into TEAMSUB's priorities and support requirements.
- Engage in the Team Sub Tactical Submarine Evolution Plan (TSEP) activities and participate in the TSEP Integrated Product Team, offering planning and execution assistance.
- Collaborate on Unmanned Systems payload integration within integrated product teams (UxS IPT) to identify and address capability gaps through both material and non-material solutions.
- Contribute to the PEO UWS Science and Technology Objectives (STOs).
Employment Conditions:
This is a bargaining unit position. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and suitable for federal employment. Participation in the direct deposit pay program is mandatory. New hires will undergo an E-Verify employment verification check.
Qualifications:
This interdisciplinary position may be filled by a Mechanical Engineer, Computer Engineer, Electronics Engineer, or Computer Scientist, depending on the qualifications of the candidate. Applicants from other occupational series may apply but must meet the qualifications for the listed series.
Specialized Experience:
Applicants must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-4 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience should include providing strategic planning and analysis support to leverage technologies for undersea warfare systems.
Educational Requirements:
Applicants must meet at least one of the positive education qualifications requirements as outlined by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM). This includes a professional engineering degree from an ABET-accredited institution or a degree in computer science with relevant coursework.
Additional Information:
This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. A tentative offer of employment may be rescinded if the selected candidate fails to meet pre-employment requirements.
Evaluation Criteria:
Candidates will be evaluated based on their qualifications and experience in areas such as engineering project management, systems design and integration, systems engineering, and written communication.
