Position Overview:
The Finance Executive Director is tasked with ensuring the long-term fiscal health and advancement of the organization. This role involves crafting strategies to maintain financial stability, supervising accounting functions, generating precise financial reports for the Board of Directors and Leadership Teams, and enhancing current practices to boost operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the financial planning efforts by assessing organizational performance and identifying potential risks.
  • Maintain a vigilant awareness of the organization’s financial status and proactively address any issues.
  • Establish and manage the finance IT ERP system.
  • Set objectives for and oversee all accounting and finance personnel.
  • Supervise all audit and internal control activities.
  • Prepare comprehensive and timely reports on financial performance, both monthly and annually.
  • Provide financial statements and cash flow forecasts for the CEO and leadership team.
  • Direct the Accounting Department to ensure accurate record-keeping and adequate financial controls.
  • Coordinate the development of budgets for each program and department.
  • Manage all fiscal reporting activities, including revenue/expense reports and organizational budgets.
  • Develop and uphold internal control systems to protect the organization’s financial assets.
  • Oversee independent auditors and ensure compliance with all audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and leadership team to ensure adherence to federal and state regulations.
  • Assist in the development of new business services and budgets.
  • Monitor banking activities and provide regular cash flow projections.
  • Manage financial activities related to government grants, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
  • Prepare budgets for grant proposals and track restricted funding.
  • Act as a liaison to the Finance Committee and attend Board meetings.
Qualifications:
  • Extensive knowledge of non-profit accounting principles and the ability to implement financial management programs.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and mentoring finance teams.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel, and familiarity with QuickBooks.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the organization.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
  • Openness to constructive conflict resolution and continuous improvement.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
  • A minimum of seven years of experience in financial management.
  • Experience with grant management is preferred.
  • Five years of experience in a senior financial role is required.
  • Three years of supervisory experience is essential.
