This role is responsible for overseeing procurement functions related to the company's product inventory needs. The ideal candidate will have expertise in purchasing and inventory management, with a strong understanding of foodservice distribution and logistics.

• Place purchase orders with suppliers, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policy and performance standards.
• Negotiate quotes with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and delivery terms.
• Collaborate with finance and vendors to manage payment requirements and ensure timely receipt of products.
• Monitor and adjust inventory levels to optimize stock and minimize waste, using system-generated reports and internal department information.
• Communicate daily with the sales team to ensure alignment on product availability and delivery schedules.
• Use weekly reports and meetings to achieve optimal inventory levels, product freshness, and returns.
• Verify all purchase orders for accuracy, including pricing, quantity, freight, and delivery dates.
• Work with inland logistics to arrange for on-time product deliveries and ensure seamless inventory management.
• Update vendor and item information in the system, as required, to reflect changes in pricing, freight, and other relevant details.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• At least 3 years of purchasing experience, preferably in foodservice distribution.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with experience in AS400 a plus.

The successful candidate will have the autonomy to make daily procurement decisions, including selecting suppliers and managing inventory levels. They will also have the opportunity to negotiate prices with vendors and make decisions on inventory management.

The Merchandising Supervisor will provide guidance and oversight, with the VP of Merchandising reviewing and approving key decisions.
