Senior Civil Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our team at Prodigy Resources in Lakewood. This role offers the opportunity to work on civil design projects throughout Colorado's Front Range and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with master planning and conceptual design to ensure projects meet client needs and expectations.
  • Help determine project fees and prepare proposals to secure new business opportunities.
  • Monitor design budgets and project schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and other design disciplines to provide exceptional client service.
  • Manage multiple engineering projects from initial design through to construction completion, ensuring high-quality results and client satisfaction.
  • Mentor and lead a team of civil engineers and CAD technicians to foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Utilize AutoCAD/Civil3D to design and coordinate medium to large-scale projects within specified timelines and budgets.
  • Attend project meetings throughout the design and construction phases to ensure effective communication and project progress.
  • Conduct quality control checks on produced work to maintain high standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Provide construction administration support, including shop drawing reviews, responses to Requests for Information (RFIs), and field observations to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Monitor project budgets and review/approve client invoicing to ensure accurate and timely payment.
  • Participate in collection and accounts receivable efforts to maintain a healthy cash flow.
  • Be available to work overtime as needed to meet project deadlines and deliver exceptional results.
Working Conditions/Skills/Abilities:

This position requires both office and fieldwork, with the ability to move around and work in non-ADA accessible construction sites.

  • Ability to move around inside and outside the office and on non-ADA accessible construction sites.
  • Capacity to remain stationary for extended periods.
  • Proficiency in repetitive tasks, such as using a keyboard or mouse.
  • Capability to carry, ascend, and descend ladders.
  • Ability to identify colors accurately.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
  • Skilled in determining and exchanging accurate information.
  • Occasionally lifting or holding equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to navigate atypical environments and confined spaces.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in site development.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently for extended periods.
  • Strong written, technical, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Commitment to client service and a collaborative team approach.
  • Attention to detail with a focus on delivering high-quality work and exceptional client service.
  • Ability to engage effectively with diverse clients, regulators, and authorities.
  • Proven marketing and business development skills.
  • Possession of a PE license in Colorado or the ability to obtain one within three months.
