To ensure equitable clinical research outcomes, we strive to elevate the number of BIPOC researchers and investigators leading clinical trials while also diversifying research participants.
Through these initiatives, NMF actively challenges the systemic barriers that hinder talented BIPOC students and professionals from serving communities that have faced historical neglect.
Role OverviewReporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Lead Financial Analyst is a vital accounting professional tasked with upholding the financial health and integrity of the organization.
The responsibilities of the Lead Financial Analyst encompass ensuring that the Accounting and Finance operations adhere to internal policies and accounting standards specific to the non-profit sector.
This position offers the opportunity to engage in various accounting cycles, supporting NMF departments in achieving success across seven strategic pillars:

The Lead Financial Analyst will be responsible for:
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.
- Assisting the CFO in strategizing, implementing, and overseeing NMF's financial initiatives.
- Acting as the primary liaison between the organization and external accounting service providers.
- Facilitating the timely completion of monthly closing activities, annual audits, and tax return preparations.
- Monitoring and analyzing financial data to inform decision-making.
- Preparing budgets and conducting financial forecasting.
- Providing financial guidance to other departments as needed.
- Recommending strategies to optimize costs and improve accounting efficiencies.
- Communicating effectively with vendors and staff to streamline financial transactions.
- Supporting the Accounting and Finance team with special projects as required.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 3-5 years of experience in accounting roles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.
- Experience with QuickBooks Online is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Raiser's Edge is a plus.
