As a Senior Water Resources Engineer, you will:

- Deliver high-quality engineering calculations, technical documentation, and design specifications for various projects.

- Collaborate closely with project managers to conduct research, perform calculations, and develop engineering designs.

- Utilize your technical expertise to assist in the execution and assessment of project designs, ensuring adherence to established engineering principles.

- Create both conceptual and detailed designs, employing the latest technical tools and software to support project execution.

- Mentor and guide junior engineering staff, providing constructive feedback and fostering their professional growth.


Essential Duties:
- Complete assigned tasks within the designated timeframe and resource allocation.
- Contribute to the formulation of project specifications and deliverables.
- Facilitate coordination among project team members to enhance productivity.
- Provide technical support to less experienced engineers and ensure quality control of engineering outputs.
- Assist in the planning and scheduling of project tasks and resource distribution.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 3 years of experience, or a PhD with 2 years of experience.
Desired Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to optimize workflows and implement continuous improvement strategies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, MicroStation, and/or AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, including geometric and algebraic concepts.
- Effective time management and proactive communication skills regarding project needs.
Preferred Experience:
- At least 6 years of relevant experience with state drainage and hydrologic/hydraulic engineering projects.
- Familiarity with flood hazard area permits and engineering software such as OpenRoads, StormCAD, and HEC-RAS.
- Knowledge of ArcGIS and relevant certifications such as Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE).
