Medical Science Liaison

Job Overview:

The Medical Science Liaison is a critical role in the medical affairs team, responsible for developing and maintaining strong scientific relationships with key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders in the medical community.

This role requires a strong scientific and clinical knowledge in relevant disease areas, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders in the medical community
  • Act as a scientific expert and provide medical and scientific information on company products, disease states, and treatment options
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including medical affairs, clinical development, and commercial teams, to ensure alignment on medical strategy and scientific communication
  • Identify and communicate medical insights and emerging trends in the medical community to internal stakeholders
  • Attend scientific conferences, medical meetings, and other relevant events to stay up-to-date on the latest research and developments in relevant disease areas
  • Support the development and implementation of clinical studies, including site identification and recruitment, protocol development, and data analysis
  • Provide training and education to internal and external stakeholders on scientific and clinical topics
  • Represent the company and its products in a professional and ethical manner at all times
Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in a scientific discipline (PharmD, PhD, MD)
  • Minimum of 25 years of experience in a medical science liaison or related role within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
  • Strong scientific and clinical knowledge in relevant disease areas
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Flexibility to travel as needed, including weekends and evenings

The Medical Science Liaison role is critical to ensuring that healthcare professionals have access to accurate, up-to-date scientific information on company products and disease states.

This role requires a strong understanding of the pharmaceutical and biotech industries, as well as the ability to communicate complex scientific information to a variety of stakeholders.
