Dental Hygienist Position at MIT

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The successful candidate will provide high-quality dental care and oral hygiene instruction to patients, working collaboratively with other Dental Service staff members.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform preventive and therapeutic treatments according to patient needs, including coronal polishing, supra- and sub gingival scaling, root planning, and application of fluoride.
• Assist in obtaining and updating clerical and clinical information and documenting same.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
Requirements:
• Registered dental hygienist with license valid in Massachusetts.
• Current CPR certification.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work cooperatively with other Dental Service staff members.
• Familiarity with X-ray exposure and developing equipment and sterilization equipment.
Working Conditions:
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, with long periods of sitting and/or standing, and exposure to hazardous materials, including blood/body fluids, hazardous waste, radiation, chemicals, toxins/poisonous substances, ultraviolet light, and sharp instruments.
