The Forklift and Reach Truck Operator plays a crucial role in the efficient operation of our warehouse and manufacturing facilities. This position involves the careful handling, transportation, and delivery of materials throughout the premises, ensuring that all processes adhere to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate factory transfers within the warehouse and production areas.
- Utilize industrial forklifts and reach trucks for loading and unloading materials, moving them to designated storage areas, machinery, and loading docks.
- Safely transport goods packed on pallets or in crates to specified locations.
- Verify that materials are delivered to the correct destinations.
- Ensure that loads are secured at all times to prevent damage.
- Monitor inventory levels and report any discrepancies.
- Operate designated vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Utilize the PKMS system through RF scanning for inventory management.
- Complete necessary paperwork and submit it at the end of each shift.
- Conduct daily pre and post-shift inspections of equipment and trucks.
- Participate in daily safety meetings to uphold workplace safety standards.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a clean work environment.
- Execute tasks accurately and in a timely manner, following operational instructions.
- Successfully complete the company's internal training program for forklift and reach truck operation.
- Ability to operate reach trucks and forklifts safely in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in handling materials efficiently and safely.
- Proficiency in processing factory transfers, including basic loading and unloading tasks.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and scanning equipment is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure safety and prevent damage.
- Ability to work independently while meeting safety and quality expectations.
- Basic computer skills and good communication abilities in English.
- Dependable team player committed to promoting a safe work environment.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience operating forklifts; prior reach truck experience is preferred.
- Experience in large-scale manufacturing or warehouse settings is advantageous.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Completion of 16 hours of Reach Truck training following 40 hours of in-house forklift training is mandatory.
This position requires the ability to perform essential responsibilities in a high-volume manufacturing environment with active forklift traffic. Hearing protection may be necessary due to elevated noise levels in certain areas.
