This position requires prompt responses to urgent situations and effective collaboration with suppliers to guarantee swift repairs and upkeep. Strong documentation abilities are crucial for this role.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance and provide assistance for all electrical systems and associated tasks.
- Execute preventive maintenance on life sciences process equipment and instruments.
- Implement minor modifications to machinery, including the installation and validation of replacement parts.
- Exhibit proficiency in PLCs and control systems for machinery.
- Troubleshoot and rectify equipment failures to reduce production interruptions.
- Work closely with the operations team to improve machinery and process performance.
- Comply with company SOPs and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Support the engineering department with various initiatives.
- Ensure all documentation is maintained in accordance with company policies and cGMP standards.
- Oversee and manage inventory for electrical components.
- Engage with suppliers to identify and acquire necessary parts.
- Adhere to all safety regulations as mandated by OSHA and other relevant authorities.
- Assist the facility team in the upkeep of equipment.
- Support the validation team in executing facility and equipment validations.
- Perform additional responsibilities as necessary.
- Follow all company policies and standards.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent; a degree in an electrical or mechanical discipline is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in the life sciences sector, particularly in a cGMP setting, focusing on process equipment and facility troubleshooting.
- An electrical license in New Jersey is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of instrumentation, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Exceptional verbal communication skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet stringent deadlines.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- This role may necessitate working under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Flexibility in working hours is essential.
- Some travel may be required.
