Job Title: Cardiac Monitor Technician

CentraState Healthcare System is seeking a skilled Cardiac Monitor Technician to provide technical assistance to licensed professionals in delivering quality patient care. The ideal candidate will have experience in EKG interpretation and a strong understanding of cardiac rhythms.

Responsibilities:
  • Collect telemetry strips for each monitored patient at the beginning of each shift, at the middle of the shift, and as needed.
  • Record on telemetry strips the measurement of the PR interval, RR, QRS, and rhythm, and affix own initials.
  • Mount strips in the chart after nurse verification and initials.
  • Report any abnormality or deviation in rate or rhythm to the RN.
  • Assist physicians and nurses in locating patient rhythms on the monitor and accessing other monitor properties.
  • Monitor patient whereabouts and pause or restart tracings as needed.
  • Ensure alarms are functioning properly each shift and document on the Monitor Technician Checklist.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • One year of recent experience in EKG interpretation for live Tele-Monitor.
  • Strong professional, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
