Key Responsibilities- Operate various machinery, including mills, drills, benders, broaches, secondary operation machines, presses, and lathes. Minor setups may be required. Tasks are repetitive and straightforward, with the possibility of rotating between different operations.
- Position components based on assembly knowledge or by following blueprints, routings, and bills of materials.
- Secure parts using bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners.
- Utilize hand files and scrapers to remove small amounts of metal for precise fitting between components.
- Operate drill presses, presses, or riveting machines to support assembly tasks.
- Wire and solder basic subassemblies.
- Conduct functional and visual inspections of various products to ensure quality standards.
- Prepare boxes, labels, and accessory packs for finished products using heat sealers, label machines, and staplers.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
- Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Capability to write basic correspondence.
- Effective communication skills for presenting information in one-on-one and small group settings.
- Basic arithmetic skills for adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and to interpret bar graphs.
- Common sense understanding to execute instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Problem-solving skills for handling issues involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Regularly required to sit, use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and communicate verbally.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.
- Noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
