Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified electronics engineering professional with a minimum of 5 years' experience to support hardware design and integration work for the Combat Capabilities Development Command (CCDC) Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC) at Detroit Arsenal, MI.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the execution of the hardware design and integration process in the lab to include workflow and assignment of duties.
- Ensure hardware team compliance with product and lab best practices.
- Hardware/Software Integration.
- Debugging issues with existing code bases.
- Development of automated testing processes and supporting toolsets.
Requirements
- Experience with Electronic Control Systems.
- Broad Experience with Electronics and Digital Communication Buses (e.g. RS422, MIL-STD-1553, CAN, Ethernet, etc.).
- Broad experience with AutoCAD and/or Solidworks with ability to demonstrate skillset.
- Experience Designing Embedded Systems/Software including PCB and firmware.
- Experience with Electrical/Electronics laboratory equipment and environment.
- Product development experience and knowledge.
- VHDL and/or Xilinx FPGA experience is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working with team-based Hardware and Software Development and Configuration Management Tools.
- Hardware and Software Integration.
- Hardware interface testing.
- Oversight of the hardware design process.
- Re-engineering, T&E, or related experience with DoD Ground and weapon platforms is a plus.
Education and Experience Requirements
- B.S. or greater in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or other technical discipline is required. Relevant graduate degrees will be given preference.
- 5+ years of direct hardware and firmware design.
- Understanding of PLC Concepts and Design/Siemens experience preferred.
- Previous experience as an Electronics Lead will be given preference.
- Previous experience in a Software-in-the-Loop or Hardware-in-the-loop lab will be given preference.
- Previous experience with Ground Vehicle Platform Abrams is preferred, but not required.
Additional Requirements
- Candidate must be a U.S Citizen.
- Duty Station – Detroit Arsenal.
- This position requires the candidate meet requirements to obtain a final secret security clearance to access classified information. Inability to obtain a secret clearance will result in candidate being ineligible for this position.
