Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a physician, including obtaining medical histories, performing physical exams, and diagnosing and treating chronic diseases.
- Order diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and provide preventive health screenings and immunizations.
- Assist the doctor with office surgeries and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Make follow-up calls to check patients' progress and work closely with other nurses to ensure efficient patient flow.
- Consult with the doctor regarding patient symptoms to ensure proper diagnosis and treatment.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
Masters degree in nursing or Graduate of a Physician Assistant training Program.
3-5 years clinical practice in an acute care setting required.
1-3 years previous experience as an APP in an acute or primary care setting or equivalent experience.
Required Licensure and Certifications:
Certified Nurse Practitioner.
Certificate of fitness through American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Licensed as an RN in the state of TN/GA.
Licensed as a CRNP in state of TN, or TN State PA License required.
BLS or ACLS required.
