As a key member of the Emerson Hospital team, the Surgical Testing Coordinator will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures. Reporting directly to the Unit Manager, this role will work collaboratively with the Department of Anesthesia to gather and review patient information, including test results, lab reports, and consults. The successful candidate will be responsible for verifying that patient information is accurate and complete, and for collaborating with physicians to address any concerns that may impact surgery.
Key Responsibilities:- Assemble and review patient charts for surgical procedures, ensuring completion of all ordered tests and verification of test results.
- Collaborate with physicians to address any concerns or issues that may impact surgery.
- Provide clear and concise instructions to patients regarding fasting times, medications to be taken or held, and answer any questions they may have about the procedure or process.
- Work collaboratively with support staff to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Previous experience in a surgical setting is preferred.
- Strong background in patient assessment skills.
- Current MA RN license in good standing required.
- BCLS certification required.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong physical assessment skills.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Computer skills and proficiency in relevant software applications.
