Job Title: Medical Assistant Lead

We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced Medical Assistant Lead to join our team at ChenMed. As a Medical Assistant Lead, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and leading a team of clinical staff to ensure the smooth operation of our healthcare facilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of Medical Assistants and other clinical staff to ensure the completeness and accuracy of all tasks.
  • Monitor team performance, identify any issues, and provide feedback to Center leaders.
  • Manage and monitor team member work schedules.
  • Provide appropriate medical assistant care to patients following established standards and practices.
  • Prepare exam rooms for patients, ensuring all necessary medical tools and equipment are present and functional.
  • Assist physicians and clinicians in the ambulatory setting.
  • Liaise with medical and leadership staff to identify efficiencies in the facility's management.
  • Assemble patient medical records prior to provider receiving the record.
  • Disassemble patient medical record after patient visit and input and post patients' charges into the system.
  • Address and resolve any customer-service issues.
  • Ensure proper flow of patients/doctors from check-in area to patient exam rooms.
  • Facilitate processes and procedures related to screening of walk-in patients.
  • Ensure proper handling, documentation, and transmission of phone calls and telephone messages.
  • Ensure accuracy of medications provided to patients.
  • Inspect pharmacy log and inventory.
  • Ensure accurate indexing of all paperwork.
  • Lead, monitor, and handle deliveries and invoices for medical products.
  • Monitor waiting time report.
  • Check over patient schedules for transportation pickup.
  • Discharge patients in accordance with physicians' orders.
  • Inspect crash cart on a weekly basis.
  • Coordinate sending out of lab specimens.
  • Acquire reports from hospitals and urgent care centers for incoming patients.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent education (GED) required.
  • Graduation from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program or comparable healthcare vocational training required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of work experience as a Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, or similar in a hospital, medical clinic, or comparable environment required.
  • Experience working with geriatric patients is a plus.
  • EMR system experience preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AMA) or American Red Cross required within the first 90 days of employment.
