About the Role

Air Liquide is seeking a highly skilled Senior Plant Engineer to join our team in Houston, Texas. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our industrial gas production facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the engineering and operations effort to provide safe, reliable, quality, cost-effective products to customers.
  • Support the Plant Manager in operating the facility in compliance with all governmental regulations and Air Liquide policies.
  • Work to achieve Zero Accidents by taking a leadership role in safety and meeting or exceeding company safety and security standards.
  • Develop, implement, and improve standard operating procedures in operations and maintenance.
  • Work effectively with maintenance personnel to execute/improve predictive and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Drive improvement to reach Availability, Reliability, and preventive maintenance targets for the site.
  • Identify and drive efficiency improvements in operations.
  • Track and trend key performance indicators; take corrective action as needed.
  • Maintain key operating design documents; red-line as needed when MOCs are approved.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to reduce costs.
  • Knowledgeable of Maximo (CMMS) for work orders, purchasing, and warehouse inventory.
  • Foster a positive culture and drive for optimal performance.
  • Monitor production tech reading sheets, logbooks, calibration sheets, shift turnover reports, etc. to ensure compliance and develop corrective action plans for any identified issues.
  • Work regularly with regional and corporate support groups.
  • Team player that can effectively work within the Air Liquide organization.
  • Support operations manager in building positive customer relationships and proactive in resolving customer concerns.
  • Gather data and create monthly production and incidents reports.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required (Mechanical or Chemical discipline preferred).
  • 4+ years of applicable experience in project engineering or operations in industrial gas or petrochemical industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse teams and achieve results.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for operating plants, including Process Safety Management, PSM, OSHA regulations, EPA/TCEQ regulations, Food Safety, state, and local requirements.
  • Technical and working understanding of cryogenic distillation used in the Air Separation process preferred.
  • Able to use MS Office; ability to learn Air Liquide software systems.
  • Extremely organized and effective at time management.
  • Ability to read and red-line key operating documents.
  • Experience with operating DCS and PLC systems.
  • Displays mechanical, process, and electrical aptitude; ability to troubleshoot production problems.
