We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced lecturer to join our team in the Department of Biological Sciences at California State University San Marcos. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in a variety of biological sciences courses, as well as contributing to the development of our academic programs.
Key Responsibilities- Teach and mentor students in biological sciences courses, including lectures, discussions, and laboratory sessions
- Develop and implement curriculum to meet the needs of our students and the department
- Contribute to the development of our academic programs, including course planning and assessment
- Collaborate with colleagues to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Participate in departmental and university-wide service activities, such as committee work and professional development
- A master's degree or terminal degree in the area of instruction or in a closely related field
- Experience teaching and mentoring students in biological sciences courses
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and administrators
- Ability to develop and implement curriculum to meet the needs of our students and the department
- Commitment to promoting diversity, inclusivity, and intercultural competence in the classroom and in the department
- Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and a demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for under-represented groups
- Knowledge of and experience with curriculum development and assessment
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to the development of our academic programs
The salary for this position is commensurate with degree level and experience. The CSU Classification Salary Range for Lecturer A - AY is $4,530 - $6,056 per full-time month, and the CSU Classification Salary Range for Lecturer B - AY is $5,405 - $11,994 per full-time month.
