Lecturer Pool Position

California State University San Marcos is seeking qualified applicants for a Lecturer Pool Position in the School of Nursing. The successful candidate will teach part-time in the Pediatrics/OB clinical course, providing instruction and assessment techniques to promote students' successful achievement of course learning competencies.
Responsibilities:- Teach and role model effective face-to-face instruction and assessment techniques to promote students' successful achievement of course learning competencies.
- Prepare for and teach the clinical course with general supervision of the course coordinator.
- Provide hands-on demonstration of nursing care as needed, ensuring care is consistent with the clinical agency, accreditation standards, and regulatory guidelines.
- Complete weekly evaluation of student's clinical practice and document both positive progression and areas for improvement.
- Assist students to master course material by being available through office hours and by helping them to access other School of Nursing resources.
- Utilize computer and application-based technologies as required to complete instructional and assessment duties.
- Assign grades and maintain course/student records in accordance with the university and school requirements and deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with the course coordinator, colleagues, laboratory staff, and/or clinical agency personnel to resolve issues or concerns.
- A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
- BRN Faculty requirement: Pediatric (Acute Care Peds) or OB (L&D & Post-Partum) nursing work experience within the previous 5 years.
- State licensure by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
- Meet the School of Nursing's requirements regarding current immunizations and CPR licensure.
- A doctorate in Nursing (DNP, PhD, or EdD with emphasis on Nursing Education).
- Experience teaching a pediatric or OB clinical course.
- Preference will be given to applicants with a demonstrated commitment to diversity and/or intercultural competence with diverse groups in relation to teaching.
Salary commensurate with degree level and experience. The salary schedule information for the Lecturer – Academic Year Classification is available based on the following ranges: CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer A - AY: $5,007 – $6,359 per full-time month. CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer B - AY: $5,925 – $12,594 per full-time month.
The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.
