As a Radiologic Technologist-Computed Tomography, you will specialize in the performance of computerized tomographic radiological procedures on patients. You will work under general supervision and may perform general diagnostic radiology examinations. Your duties will include explaining examination procedures to patients, preparing patients for examinations, and performing related duties as required.
Key Responsibilities- Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare patients for examinations.
- Perform computerized tomographic radiological procedures on patients.
- May perform general diagnostic radiology examinations.
- Prepare procedure rooms and replenish stock as needed.
- Monitor patients for possible reactions and provide immediate care if necessary.
- Assist radiologists in performing complex sterile diagnostic procedures.
- Perform all imaging procedures while demonstrating principles of radiation protection.
- Resolve image exceptions and ensure high-quality image delivery into PACS.
- Complete study indexing and review clinical protocols before performing studies.
- Document all clinical and billing information in the medical record and radiology information system.
- Must meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities and standards.
- Must possess personal qualities such as self-direction, flexibility, and a commitment to teamwork.
- Must be open to new learning experiences and accept diversity without judgment.
- Must demonstrate customer service values.
- May work in a hospital setting or ambulatory mobile unit.
- May be exposed to radiation if proper precautions are not taken.
- May be exposed to high-voltage equipment and potentially contagious materials.
- May lift and/or move equipment and/or patients that would be in excess of 10 lbs.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and the advanced registry in Computed Tomography (CT) or registry eligible.
