About the Job

The City of Pomona, CA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Police Officer to join our team. As a sworn peace officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, preventing and investigating crimes, and providing excellent customer service to the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol designated areas to preserve law and order, prevent and investigate crimes, and enforce traffic laws and regulations.
  • Respond to emergency calls, including domestic and public disturbances, automobile accidents, and other incidents.
  • Collect, process, and present evidence, including fingerprints, blood, and other physical evidence.
  • Enforce traffic laws and regulations, issue warnings and citations, and direct traffic at emergency situations.
  • Conduct investigations, gather and preserve evidence, interview victims, complainants, and witnesses, and identify and interrogate suspects.
  • Testify and present evidence in court, and serve as a Field Training Officer, training new officers on departmental policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Must be currently employed and in good standing with a California law enforcement agency, or have completed a POST-approved academy within the last year.
  • Must possess a valid California Class C driver's license, and a Basic P.O.S.T. Certificate.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalency, and be at least 20 1/2 years of age at the time of applying.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, and be able to pass a background investigation, polygraph, and psychological evaluation.
