Job Summary

The Front of House Manager is a key member of the 604 Hospitality Group team, responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of our restaurants. This role requires a strong leader who can train, supervise, and schedule front-of-house staff while ensuring excellent service to guests and adherence to company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate Daily Operations: Oversee the smooth operation of the restaurant, including managing staff, inventory, and customer service.
  • Manage Front-of-House Staff: Train, supervise, and schedule front-of-house staff to ensure excellent service and high-quality customer experience.
  • Assist in Hiring: Participate in the interviewing and hiring process for front-of-house positions.
  • Ensure Guest Satisfaction: Ensure that all guests receive excellent service and have a positive experience during their visit.
  • Maintain Order and Discipline: Maintain a clean and organized restaurant environment, and ensure that all staff are following company policies and procedures.
  • Attend Management Training: Participate in management training and development programs to enhance leadership and HR management skills.
  • Execute Opening and Closing Duties: Ensure that all opening and closing duties are completed correctly, including cleaning, maintenance, and inventory management.
  • Manage Daily Deposits and POS Systems: Responsible for daily deposits and the correct operation of POS systems.
  • Inventory and Maintenance: Manage inventory and maintenance of front-of-house items, including par levels and equipment.
  • Provide Excellent Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to guests and lead by example for all employees.
  • Gain Working Knowledge: Gain a working knowledge of sales goals, cost of goods sold, labor allotments, budget variance, inventory counts, and other reporting data.
  • Enforce Health and Safety Standards: Enforce and monitor all health, safety, and sanitation standards in accordance with company policy.
  • Handle Guest Complaints: Handle and respond to guest complaints in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Collaborate with Management Team: Work closely with the management team to provide seamless execution of operational service.
Requirements
  • 2+ Years of Restaurant Management Experience: Preferably with experience in restaurant management, including leadership and customer service skills.
  • Positive Attendance and Work Performance Record: A positive attendance and work performance record is essential for this role.
  • Extensive Food and Beverage Knowledge: Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations, including menu management and inventory control.
  • Strong Leadership and Communication Skills: Excellent leadership, motivational, people, verbal, written, and communication skills are required for this role.
  • Customer Service Experience: Experience in customer service, including conflict resolution and guest satisfaction.
  • Excellent Decision-Making and Time Management Skills: Strong decision-making and time management skills are essential for this role.
  • Experience with POS Systems and Cash Handling: Experience with POS systems and cash handling is required.
  • Passion for the Food and Restaurant Industry: A passion for the food and restaurant industry is essential for this role.
  • Familiarity with Restaurant and Workplace Safety Policies: Familiarity with restaurant and workplace safety policies and procedures is required.
  • Strong Computer Skills: Strong computer skills, including G-Suite (i.e. Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.).
  • Ability to Influence and Interact with All Levels of the Organization: Ability to influence and interact with all levels of the organization, including employees, management, and guests.
  • Organized and Detail-Oriented Approach: An organized and detail-oriented approach, including strong analytical and tactical execution skills.

  • Ability to Work Extended Hours: Ability to work extended hours, including weekends and/or holidays.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for the duration of a scheduled shift, and lift, stoop, and bend as needed.
  • Reliability and Punctuality: Must be reliable and punctual, with a strong attendance record.
  • Efficiency and Accuracy with Money and Figures: Must be efficient and accurate with money and figures, including cash management.
  • Ability to Pass Food Safety Training: Must be able to pass food safety training and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Ability to Work Flexible Hours: Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
