Cytogenetic Technologist I Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Cytogenetic Technologist I to join our team at Quest Diagnostics Incorporated. As a Cytogenetic Technologist I, you will play a critical role in performing tests requiring independent judgment and responsibility in sub-specialties such as cytogenetics, molecular cytogenetics, and fluorescence in situ hybridization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform accurate and efficient tissue culture, microscopic analysis, and molecular cytogenetics tests
  • Document and maintain records of test results and laboratory procedures
  • Ensure adherence to quality control standards and laboratory safety protocols
  • Collaborate with supervisors and colleagues to achieve departmental goals and objectives
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a life science or related field
  • Current ASCP Certification in Cytogenetics (ASCP-CG)
  • One year of full-time experience in a clinical cytogenetics laboratory
  • Excellent manual dexterity, pattern recognition skills, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
