Position Overview

Salem Media Group is on the lookout for a talented Video Producer/Booker to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in producing engaging content for our prominent media channel, which showcases leading conservative voices.

Key Responsibilities

The Video Producer will play a crucial role in the creation and execution of our media productions. Responsibilities will vary based on the specific needs of each project, including:

  • Coordinating guest bookings for daily shows.
  • Assisting in the editing process and managing production assets.
  • Contributing to show planning, scheduling, and topic research.
  • Writing scripts, proofreading content, and pitching new ideas.

In terms of production duties, the Video Producer will be responsible for:

  • Serving as a technical director, ensuring optimal camera framing and show readiness.
  • Setting up production equipment and verifying video routes.
  • Preparing and managing show elements for seamless playback.
  • Creating and editing B Roll packages for our broadcasts.

After each show, the Video Producer will ensure that all files are delivered to the editing team and assist in selecting clips for social media. This role requires making editorial decisions during the post-production phase, guided by the Director of Network Operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in live video switching, preferably with Ross and Newtek systems.
  • Proficient in initiating and concluding live streams, with troubleshooting skills.
  • Comfortable collaborating with on-screen talent.
  • Experience in audio mixing for broadcast and video production.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to follow direction.
  • Proficient in video editing using Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Familiarity with Adobe After Effects and Photoshop.
  • Knowledge of production playback systems such as Ross Xpression and Tricaster.
