  • Developing and maintaining CNC programs for milling and turning operations, utilizing both 2D designs and 3D models.
  • Designing and specifying component setups, as well as creating custom fixtures as necessary.
  • Innovating and enhancing manufacturing processes while identifying opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Collaborating closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Providing support to the machine shop, manufacturing, and engineering departments.
  • Offering training and technical guidance to fellow machinists.
  • Specifying tooling requirements, testing new tools, and coordinating with tooling suppliers.
  • Occasionally operating CNC machinery as needed.
  • Estimating costs for external contract work.
  • Assisting vendors with machining processes and tooling solutions.
  • Having a minimum of 5 years of experience in CNC programming, machining, tool design, and process improvement.
  • Demonstrating proficiency in machining practices, cutting tools, work-holding techniques, and part setups.
  • Being adept at interpreting engineering drawings for CNC program creation.
  • Understanding geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) for machining tasks.
  • Familiarity with CNC machine setup and operation is essential.
  • Exhibiting the ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Being a strong team player, committed to meeting production goals.
  • Possessing problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • Comfortable working extensively on a computer in an office environment.
  • Able to handle tooling weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Prior experience with GibbsCam is a plus.
  • Familiarity with machining steel, ductile cast parts, and large components is advantageous.
