Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at the University of Kentucky Good Samaritan Hospital. The ideal candidate will have excellent direct patient care and critical thinking skills, with a strong ability to communicate in a professional and respectful manner.

This is a dynamic environment that supports collaborative efforts among nursing staff and physicians to increase communication and enhance patient outcomes. As a member of our interdisciplinary progressive care team, you will be responsible for closely monitoring patients' physiologic conditions, performing frequent treatments as ordered by physicians, and providing safe transitions from intensive care to acute or progressive care.

About the Role

The primary responsibilities of this position include providing comprehensive, continuous, and patient-centered care, which includes assessing, documenting, planning, implementing, teaching, developing, and evaluating a comprehensive nursing plan of care. You will also be responsible for delivering direct patient care, ensuring patient satisfaction, training and delegating duties for Nursing Care Technicians (Nursing Assistants), and adhering to University policies and procedures as well as federal, state, and local regulations.

Requirements
  • A BSN degree with at least 1 year of RN experience preferred
  • Excellent direct patient care and critical thinking skills
  • Strong ability to communicate in a professional and respectful manner
  • Basic computer navigation skills and working knowledge of the internet
Benefits
