Food Inspector Job Description

This is an entry-level position with no prior experience necessary. As a Food Inspector with the U.S. Army, you will become a part of a team of dedicated professionals who work together to ensure the quality and safety of food for human consumption.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate packaging, packing, and marking requirements to ensure compliance with regulations
  • Identify and report unsanitary conditions in food storage facilities and commissary stores
  • Operate and maintain inspection equipment to ensure accurate and efficient inspections
  • Perform duties in accordance with approved standards of conduct and report any suspected fraud or irregularities
  • Attend Basic and Advanced Training to develop the skills and knowledge necessary for success in this role

Basic Qualifications:

  • Age: 17 to 34 years old
  • Education: Current Senior in High School, High School Diploma, GED, or higher education level completed
  • Citizenship: U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Background check and medical screening
  • Passing score on the ASVAB
