The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and managing the flow of international shipments from their point of origin to their final destination. This role requires effective collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and optimal supply chain performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate, monitor, and manage international shipments to ensure they reach their destinations efficiently.
- Collaborate with procurement, planning teams, suppliers, freight forwarders, direct carriers, warehouses, and manufacturing sites to prioritize inbound shipments for timely delivery.
- Manage carrier assignments to guarantee adequate coverage for inbound shipments.
- Track and address detention and demurrage issues, proactively preventing and resolving delays while implementing corrective measures.
- Monitor Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) for any transmission errors, identifying root causes to mitigate future occurrences.
- Assist in the creation and refinement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for international logistics.
- Ensure adherence to established SOPs and compliance standards.
Qualifications:
Education:
A degree ranging from an Associate to a Master's in Business, Supply Chain Engineering, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
Technical/Professional Skills:
- Degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Familiarity with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Lean manufacturing principles.
- Experience with SAP systems is preferred.
Work Authorization:
Must be legally authorized to work in the USA without the need for employment sponsorship or an H-1B visa.
