Position Summary:


MV Transportation is in search of a Building Maintenance Specialist, a skilled professional with extensive experience in facility upkeep and management. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and practical knowledge to ensure the optimal functioning and appearance of our facilities.


Key Responsibilities:


The Building Maintenance Specialist will operate under the guidance of the Quality Assurance Supervisor, taking initiative in organizing daily tasks to meet the demands of facility maintenance and the preventive maintenance program. The responsibilities include:

  • Conducting and documenting all preventive maintenance inspections and services for the facility.
  • Identifying and diagnosing facility-related issues, including electrical and HVAC systems, and coordinating repairs with subcontractors or clients as necessary.
  • Maintaining accurate records of work performed, utilizing both manual and digital systems.
  • Tracking and documenting all materials and supplies utilized during maintenance activities.
  • Acquiring knowledge of relevant laws and regulations applicable to the maintenance trade.
  • Gaining familiarity with advanced safety systems, including AFSS and combustible gas detection protocols.
  • Upholding safety standards and ensuring a clean, organized work environment.
  • Performing additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:


Essential Skills and Experience:
High School diploma or a two-year technical degree is preferred.
At least five (5) years of progressive experience in facility maintenance is required.
Possession of personal tools necessary for the trade is mandatory.
A solid understanding of the design, operation, and maintenance of commercial buildings and heavy-duty vehicle maintenance facilities is essential.
Familiarity with emerging technologies, including alternative fuel systems, is advantageous.
Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and troubleshooting methods is expected.
Knowledge of company policies and procedures is beneficial.
Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail are crucial.
Effective written and verbal communication skills are necessary.


Compensation:
Starting pay rate is $32/hour.
