Job Title: Medical Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting healthcare professionals with various tasks, including obtaining specimens, conducting routine lab studies, and coordinating patient flow. This is an excellent opportunity to learn and grow in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist healthcare professionals with patient care and administrative tasks
  • Obtain and process patient specimens for laboratory testing
  • Conduct routine lab studies and prepare samples for analysis
  • Coordinate patient flow and schedule appointments and phone messages
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Must meet current eligibility to sit for the exam with attainment of certification or registration through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistants within 90 days of employment date
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must obtain BLS Certification within 6 months of employment date
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program
  • Previous outpatient experience preferred
