Critical Care Registered Nurse

Job Summary
The Cardiovascular Nurse Specialist at Good Samaritan Medical Center plans, delivers, and evaluates nursing care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of the Director and/or designee. As a key member of the healthcare team, the nurse functions as a team leader and facilitator, providing effective communication with other health team members.
Responsibilities
- Monitors patients for complications and administers medications, including moderate sedation, as needed.
- Documents procedures and evaluates learning needs of patients and/or family members, providing patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel and may precept student nurses and new hires.
- Works in a fast-paced environment, taking appropriate action while working in a critical care setting.
- May be required to take call for emergent procedures with on-call arrival time requirements.
Qualifications
Minimum Education/Licensure/Certifications
- Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations:
- Licensed Registered Nurse, State of Florida
- Current BLS certification
- ACLS certification within 3 months of hire
- Minimum Experience:
- At least one year of nursing in the critical care setting (e.g., ICU, ED, Trauma)
- Prefer three years of critical care experience
- Prefer prior experience in procedural areas (e.g., Cath/IR/EP/Neuro)
Additional Requirements
Good Samaritan Medical Center complies with federal, state, and/or local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce.
