About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled International Trade Attorney to join our team at the U.S. Trade Representative. As a key member of our office, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing trade policies that promote American businesses, workers, and agricultural producers.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Trade Policy Analysis: Provide expert legal analysis and advice on a variety of trade issues, including import relief, unfair trade practices, and tariff agreements.
  2. Negotiations and Diplomacy: Conduct bilateral and multilateral negotiations concerning trade issues related to goods and services, committing the United States to the terms of the resulting agreements.
  3. Policy Development: Work closely with senior officials to formulate U.S. trade policies, conducting research on laws, legal opinions, policies, and regulations on specific trade areas or broad trade issues.
  4. Legal Advice and Guidance: Provide expert advice and guidance to USTR officials on legal issues related to assigned trade issues, developing and coordinating USTR's legal position on all issues.
  5. Legislative Review: Review current and pending legislation related to assigned areas and potential effect and impact on U.S. trade and the economy.
Requirements
  1. Knowledge of U.S. International Trade Laws and Policies: In-depth knowledge of U.S. international trade laws and policies, including laws dealing with import relief, unfair trade practices, tariff agreements, and others.
  2. Knowledge of Legal Research Methods: Strong knowledge of legal research methods, including the ability to identify and analyze pertinent legal information.
  3. Knowledge of Antitrust, Unfair Trade Practices, and Intellectual Property Law: In-depth knowledge of antitrust, unfair trade practices, and intellectual property law and its application.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $68,217 - $176,300 and the opportunity to work with a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment.
