REPORTS TO: Lead Employment/Retention Specialist

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt/Hourly

CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time Regular

POSITION SUMMARY: The Talent Sourcing Specialist is tasked with identifying and evaluating candidates for job openings in alignment with the specifications provided by the Business Services team. This role involves close collaboration with Career Coaches to effectively place qualified individuals in suitable positions. Additionally, the specialist will assist the team in recognizing transitional employment partners and aligning participants with Temporary Work Experiences (TWE).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Collaborate with Business Services and Employment Specialist teams to foster relationships with employers, generating job opportunities for job seekers.
  2. Maintain and organize employer agreements to establish Temporary Work Experience Host Sites.
  3. Build and nurture employer relationships while promoting the program to local businesses seeking permanent and TWE candidates.
  4. Coordinate with Career Coaches to assess job matches, manage referral processes, and identify TWE opportunities.
  5. Promote job openings to job seekers through personalized meetings and the organization of recruitment events.
  6. Screen candidates for interviews and provide suitable referrals to employers.
  7. Conduct follow-up communications with job seekers and employers to assess employment status and satisfaction with services.
  8. Guide candidates in interview preparation and conduct practice interviews.
  9. Organize monthly Job Club sessions to support groups of participants in their job search endeavors.
  10. Achieve monthly placement goals and compile reports to track activities and outcomes.
  11. Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries from job seekers and employer clients.
  12. Manage and update the database of job development leads and case notes in the designated systems.
  13. Conduct monthly follow-ups with all participants post-hiring to ensure job retention.
  14. Stay informed about economic and employment trends as well as emerging career opportunities.
  15. Perform additional duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in workforce development programs.
  2. Two to three years of experience in recruitment, sales, job development, or account management.
  3. Proven success in achieving goals in a high-volume sales environment is preferred.
  4. Ability to excel in a performance-driven business environment and consistently meet objectives.
  5. In-depth understanding of the unique challenges faced by justice-involved residents.
  6. Experience presenting to large groups effectively.
  7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  8. Familiarity with Human-Centered Design principles, including Motivational Interviewing.
  9. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  10. Strong organizational capabilities.
  11. Exceptional sales acumen with a track record of generating leads and closing deals.
  12. Critical and creative thinking abilities.
  13. Able to thrive in a fast-paced, performance-oriented environment.
  14. Proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM applications, and online sourcing tools.
  15. Possession of a valid driver's license and willingness to work a flexible schedule.
  16. Bilingual skills (Spanish and/or Arabic) are advantageous but not mandatory.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands outlined are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. The employee is regularly required to see, talk, and hear. Frequent standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods are necessary, along with sufficient dexterity to operate office equipment. The ability to lift a minimum of 10 pounds is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position operates in a typical office environment with moderate noise levels. Standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers are routinely used.
