Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Library Aide to join our team at the City of Peoria. As a Library Aide, you will play a vital role in maintaining the library's collections, providing excellent customer service, and supporting the daily operations of the library.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sort, shelf, and file library materials accurately and efficiently
  • Review shelves for accuracy and re-shelve misplaced items
  • Perform regular library sweeps and check the book drop on a scheduled basis
  • Pack and prepare materials for transport and receive and unpack incoming deliveries
  • Locate and retrieve library materials requested from stacks to fill holds
  • Check-in library materials and transit items using a computerized automation system
Additional Duties
  • Answer phones and assist customers with accounts
  • Utilize the ILS system to check out, issue new accounts, update accounts, and place holds
  • Assist with a wide variety of activities and special programs as needed
  • Demonstrate continuous efforts to improve operations and provide quality customer service
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of the library and basic computer and technical skills
  • Valid AZ Driver's License upon hire
