Newly Weds Foods, a leading global provider of premium ingredients, is seeking a highly skilled Production Supervisor to lead our Third Shift Blending Department. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for overseeing the production of various food coatings using bread crumbs manufactured at our plant.
Key Responsibilities- Department Leadership: Work under the direction of the Production Manager to maintain department production activities, processes, procedures, and employees to meet production and other assigned workload schedules.
- Ingredient Management: Collaborate closely with lead personnel and other departments on any ingredient issues to ensure seamless production.
- Production Planning: Plan the department's activities to coordinate with production schedules and needs, after review with the Production Manager.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with all other Supervisors and Managers as warranted to achieve production goals.
- Customer Focus: Maintain department operations to meet customer specifications and schedules.
- Problem-Solving: Identify root cause of problems, review with management, and implement corrective action.
- Quality Assurance: Coordinate with QA on any production issues, under the direction of the Production Manager.
- Process Expertise: Display superior knowledge of ingredients and processes, and be able to speak and write effectively.
- Operational Efficiency: Ensure the efficient operation of production equipment and processes.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties or special projects as needed, and may fill in for the Production Manager in their absence under the direction of the Plant Manager.
- Education and Experience: High school diploma, some college or advanced courses preferred. Requires a minimum of five (5) years hands-on experience in our production area or related field. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Leadership and Communication Skills: Proven record for quality, safety, and attendance policies. Thorough work knowledge of OSHA, company policies, and procedures, and manufacturing/QA processes.
- Leadership and Coaching: Must have solid leadership skills in providing feedback, coaching, and know when to escalate to corrective action.
- Technical Skills: Professional communication, analytical abilities, organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and general knowledge in MS Office, AS400, and Lotus Notes.
